In the
early
1980’s,
Mr.
Grout
joined
what was
then the
Department
of
Health
and
Rehabilitative
Services
as the
attorney
for the
Licensure
and
Certification
Office.
In 1984,
Mr.
Grout
was
recruited
by
Dempsey
&
Goldsmith,
P.A. to
handle
long-term
care
licensure
matters.
In 1990,
he and
Ms.
Goldsmith
left to
form
Goldsmith
& Grout,
P.A.
Since
that
time Mr.
Grout
has
represented
long-term
care
providers
in
various
matters,
including
licensure
and
certification
issues,
appeals
of state
and
federal
sanctions
and
appearances
before
professional
boards.
Mr.
Grout
enjoys
public
speaking
and has
presented
seminars
on a
range of
topics
important
to
long-term
care.
He also
enjoys
teaching
and for
a period
of time,
taught
business
law at
Jacksonville
Community
College.
